Catan (The Settlers of Catan)

Catan is a strategy and negotiation game for 2 to 4 players. Here's how to play:

Game Objective

Be the first to reach 10 victory points by building roads, settlements, and cities.

The Board

The board represents the island of Catan with hexagons producing 5 resources: wood, sheep, wheat, brick, ore.

Game Flow

1. Roll two dice: all hexagons with this number produce resources
2. Collect corresponding resource cards
3. Build roads (1 wood + 1 brick), settlements (1 wood + 1 sheep + 1 wheat + 1 brick), or cities (3 ore + 2 wheat)
4. Trade resources with other players
5. Win victory points: 1 point per settlement, 2 points per city

The Robber

If a die shows 7, the robber wakes up. All players with more than 7 cards lose half (rounded down). Then, move the robber to a hexagon to block its production.

Development Cards

• Knight: Move the robber
• Progress: Get free resources
• Victory Points: 1 instant point
